Bushcraft knife with hand-stitched leather sheath, extremely sharp, very robust, rust-proof, ground knife back & walnut handle

This sentence describes this knife almost perfectly. Every part of this "workhorse" was crafted and perfectly adjusted in many artisanal steps. From the ground walnut handles to the hand-stitched saddle stitching to the mirror-polished blade, this knife combines a wealth of experience from practical use and craftsmanship.

The knife:

The blade is made of stainless steel (440A), is 100% continuous (full tank) and has a total length of approx. 21cm (8.26inch).

The ground blade part (working part) has a length of approx. 10.5cm (4.13inch) and is provided with a flat grind on both sides.

The cutting edge was sharpened to an extremely sharp finish on a Japanese water whetstone and then polished to a mirror finish.

The blade spine in the working area is approximately 4.5mm (0.177inch) and has no protective bevel! This was deliberately omitted to ensure the use of a fire steel.

The handle scales are made of walnut and treated with a special, long-lasting oil. They are then coated with a thin protective layer of natural resin and polished. The locking pins and the collar are made of brass and are flush with the handle surface.

The weight of the knife is approx. 220g

The leather sheath:

The knife sheath is made of vegetable-tanned cowhide with a smooth and matte surface. The natural grain reflects the high quality of the material used. It is comfortable to the touch, offers great durability, is very robust at 3mm thick, and features an extra-wide belt loop for added flexibility when attaching it. The leather was dyed with 100% natural, alcohol-based dyes in the color "walnut." A "vintage" finish seals the pores, protects the knife and sheath from moisture, and gives the overall handcrafted piece a wonderfully rustic look. The highlight is the traditional "saddler's stitch"! (Each stitch contains a knot between the two leather pieces.) This elaborate sewing technique guarantees a particularly long service life and is a testament to the high quality of the leather.
