10g traditionally prepared tinder fungus for starting a fire in a tin can
Make fire like your ancestors!
Since the Stone Age, the meat of the hat (the trama) has been used to catch sparks and ignite the tinder nest, as well as to store the embers.
The scientific name of the tinder fungus, "Fomes fomentarius," describes its former use: "Fomes" means "igniter" in Latin, and "fomentarius" means "pertaining to tinder." This tinder fungus was processed and nitrated according to ancient tradition so that it could be ignited with a spark, as it was done in the old days.
The set includes a tin can for storage and at least 10g of traditionally made tinder fungus. This amount is enough for approximately 20 fire starts.
